just like our pants we want our production process to be public. consciously created very dirty laundry focuses on ethics, sustainability and quality.
ethical manufacuting is the foundation of very dirty laundry and it was imperitive from the beginning that every single hand that touched and worked on each garment was known.
our cotton is sourced from deadstock fabric in northern england, the pattern pieces are made and graded in wimbledon, south London, the garments are produced in wembley, west London, the embroidery of each slogan takes place in mile end, east london
born british we believe in supporting local craftsmen and women. although this comes at a cost it is one we're willing to take. by producing clothes in this way very dirty laundry's clients understand the unique nature of each garment and are therefore willing to invest into them. as suckers for sustainability very dirty laundry garments are not being re produced and as investment pieces we are hugely minimizing the risk of ending up in landfill. not only that but by employing locally we are able to directly contribute to the local community.
very dirty laundry was initially based off a practise of screenprinting but through the manufacturing process there was a realisation that this technique would no longer be possible due to the nature of the garments. work was then done with various specialists through trial and error to ensure the best outcome without using screenprinting, that's when embroidery was settled on.
very dirty laundry garments are not trends they are artworks and pieces for life, already filled with stories we hope that each and every garment has a long life ahead of it.
